I live on 4 acres near Oakdale with my husband and daughter and many critters! Right now we have 5 dogs, several cats, a horse, a parrot and several chickens. I grew up in the country riding and showing quarter horses and we always had dogs and cats around as well. I have always loved animals and my interest in OSPA is simply a reflection of that love. I got involved through a couple of like minded women who I admired tremendously and am so happy to be a part of the life-saving work that OSPA does. Oakdale is very lucky to have a group that is so generous of their time and money to assist with the shelter’s needs for better outcomes with the animals.
A retired Riverbank middle school teacher, Debi's lifelong love of animals led her to animal shelter volunteer work in 2008.
She became a member of Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance in 2011, serving as vice president for four years and continues to serve in several capacities.
When not playing with her own rescued dog, Bella, Debi loves to garden, read and travel with her husband, Al.
Lisa and her family have been in the Knights Ferry area since 1900. She lives there with her husband Fred, and animal menagerie.
Lisa feels very fortunate to work and live in such a great community. Her lifelong love and concern for all animals has led her to help not only the homeless animals at the Oakdale Animal Shelter but any animals in need.
I began my work as a volunteer at the Oakdale Animal Shelter in August 2018, working with the cats/kittens to help socialize them, before they were available for adoption.
February 2019, I joined OSPA, to further my interest and volunteer work, dedicated to the success of finding homes for dogs and cats.
In January 2020, I took my first leap into officer work, stepping up to the Treasurer position. While this turned out not to be the right fit for me, I’m happy to say that I’m now serving in the Secretary position, as of January 2021.
I look forward to serving the OSPA board, and the animals, to the best of my capacity.
As a child, I had wanted to become a veterinarian because of my love of animals. Life took me down a different path and I spent 36 years working with people in the medical field! However, I have always volunteered in my free time for shelters or rescues. Moving to the Oakdale area a few years ago, I found myself volunteering at the Oakdale Animal Shelter which led me to discover OSPA. I am so excited to be a new board member for this nonprofit that does so much for the homeless animals in our communities! I look forward to promoting all of the great things OSPA does and hope to help OSPA grow to be able to have an even bigger impact!
