Lisa and her family have been in the Knights Ferry area since 1900. She lives there with her husband Fred and animal menagerie. She feels very fortunate to work and live in such a great community. Her lifelong love and concern for all animals has led her to help not only the homeless animals at the Oakdale Animal Shelter but any animals in need.
Since retiring from a longtime teaching career, Debi has been passionate about rescuing homeless pets in the Riverbank/Oakdale area. She has volunteered with the Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance for five years and with the Oakdale Animal Shelter for three years. She loves spending time teaching tricks to her own rescued dogs, is a dedicated gardener, and also enjoys travel.
Regina grew up in this area on a dairy and has loved and cared for all types of animals all her life. She now volunteers by working with Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance and at the Oakdale Animal Shelter. She feels honored that her current cat, Poppy chose to come live with her as these lives are all precious.
Laurie lives with her husband Dave and daughter Justine on 4 acres near Oakdale. They share their lives with numerous critters including four dogs, several cats, chickens, a duck and two parrots. The bulk of the animals are rescued. Becoming involved with OSPA last summer was a natural outgrowth of loving all animals and wishing to be a part of anything that can help reduce the suffering of unwanted pets.
I was born in the Great State of Washington. Growing up as an army brat I was always on the hunt for any animal to rescue and would bring home every stray that would follow me. We finally settled in the Great Central Valley. I first learned of OSPA during their 2009 fundraiser to build an exercise yard and other improvements at Oakdale Animal Shelter. I just had to donate. I became a volunteer at the shelter and an OSPA member in January of 2016. It was the perfect fit! My pet family all came from the shelter, a grandpup named Achilles, and 2 resident stray cats named Ashley (aka Mr. Handsome) and Sweetpea (aka Zippy). Here is am pictured with two of our shelter dogs who were both adopted into loving homes.
I was born and raised in Modesto,CA. I grew up always having pets, mostly dogs. I love the loyalty and companionship that animals give.
Both Gracie (dog) and Gaby (cat) are rescues. I really believe that they know they were given a second chance. I became an OSPA member in 2016 and really enjoy being around like minded people who care so much about animals.
